Bill Strong

Bill has more than 30 years of experience in public affairs as a strategic communications counselor and journalist.
Here at JT, he is responsible for management of the firm, strategy and creative development, writing, crisis management and communications training. He develops and manages campaigns involving diverse issues ranging from higher education to social services to energy and the environment.
He joined JT after 10 years reporting and editing for The Associated Press in New York, Boston and in Springfield, Illinois, where he served as The AP’s Statehouse bureau chief. While he would like to be remembered for his insightful reporting on Illinois government, he may be known best for his portrayals of former Governor Jim Thompson in the annual Gridiron Show.
Outside of JT, Bill enjoys gardening, cooking, music, cycling, yoga and hanging on the front porch with his four kids, who are now older than he. Bill earned a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from Harvard University, where he also learned to tend bar, play rugby and fling a Frisbee a fair distance.
What is one thing Bill's JT co-workers may not know about him?
Bill was once Neil Young.
