Student achievement was celebrated with great enthusiasm, when JT client Urban Prep announced that 100% of its 252 seniors have been admitted to a four-year college or university. The announcement, which has become an annual tradition at Urban Prep, also marked the launch of “10AndChange” Urban Prep’s 10th anniversary campaign to refocus the narrative of Black boys/young men on positive stories. Students erupted into loud cheers when the cast of “Barbershop: The Next Cut,” including Ice Cube, Cedric the Entertainer, Regina Hall, Common, and Deon Cole surprised students to help make the announcements. Thousands of residents gathered in civic dialogue as part of The Chicago Community Trust’s On the Table where mealtime conversations set the stage for participants to meet others, share ideas and explore ways to take action to improve our region.
JT is proud to support the launch of EverThrive Illinois’ newest statewide campaign B Aware – a targeted initiative to educate parents, high school and college students, educators and health professionals about the critical importance of being immunized against the most common types of the meningococcal disease.
