JT was retained by Viscosity Oil Company (Viscosity) in late July to provide a host of services in honor of its 125th anniversary year, which included: a completely revamped website, new logo, a company video, media relations and a celebratory event for customers, employees and global executive team.
To honor 125 years in business and share their vision for the future, Viscosity sought to host an event with a big “WOW” factor to celebrate everyone who has contributed to the company’s success — from dedicated employees and loyal customers to Viscosity’s fearless leadership team, friends and family.
On October 17, nearly 200 guests from all over the globe attended an event at the Field Museum that featured a “Past-Present-Future” theme to highlight milestones throughout the past 125 years, call out current successes and unveil the Viscosity vision for the years to come. Guests were treated to entertainment from the acclaimed Jesse White Tumblers, famous Chicago blues singer Toronzo Cannon, and even a dancing robot throughout the evening!
JT managed the invitation design, distribution, and guest registration; vendor selection and coordination; creation of the speaking program and run of show for the night; talking points for all speakers; and the onsite run of show to ensure a smooth event and speaking program.
In addition to planning the capstone event, JT created a video for Viscosity that told the company’s story through the lens’ of current and prospective customers. JT conducted interviews that wove a powerful and genuine narrative about what makes the company unique and what has contributed to its longstanding success in the industry.
JT also designed a new website to convey the futuristic look and feel that Viscosity revealed as part of its anniversary celebration, and managed the site’s technical build, which included migrating the site to a content management system.
Last but certainly not least, JT developed a targeted media list and pitched specific reporters on Viscosity’s milestone anniversary, which resulted in two profile stories for the niche company.
Facebook recently announced a major change to its News Feed algorithm, which determines the content users will see as they scroll through their newsfeeds. The change will prioritize posts from users’ friends and family that inspire a two-way conversation over content from news outlets, companies and organizations. JT worked closely with the City of Chicago and World Business Chicago to plan and implement the December 5, 2017 North American Climate Summit with mayors and senior leaders from Canada, Mexico, France and Africa.
Nearly 500 Chicago business, community and workforce development leaders joined honorary co-chairs Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Penny Pritzker at the Palmer House Hilton on October 6 to celebrate Skills for Chicagoland’s Future’s employer and community partners at its third annual Employment Champions Breakfast.
