The Carter Center

The Carter Center is a nongovernmental, nonprofit organization established by President Jimmy Carter and his wife, Rosalynn, to advance peace and health worldwide – in part through international mission trips. Each trip has a different focus and goal, whether it’s contributing to Middle East peace efforts, raising awareness of and advancing Africa’s health care agenda, or election observations. Each trip’s focus and goal must be reflected in the overall itinerary during President Carter’s stay, the places he visits and the people he meets.

JT has worked with the Center to provide strategic direction and advance logistics to support several international missions. As a partner to the Center, JT assists in the development of impactful programs and events to ensure that these overseas missions achieve their intended goals in a productive and cost-effective manner. JT also manages all pre-trip advance, as well as in-country logistics, including meetings, events, community visits luncheons and dinners, daily schedules, documents, meals, coordinating transportation in-country and the delegation airport arrivals and departures.

  • To date, JT has worked with the Center on more than 15 international mission trips – making sure that each was not only logistically sound, but that the right activities took place to advance the goal of each trip.
  • A 14-day trip to the Middle East in 2009, we not only set up a schedule that included monitoring the Parliamentary election, but that also focused on strategic meetings to build key relationships in the area.
