More Than 300,000 Attend Women’s March in LA
JT was proud to lead the media strategy and onsite logistics for Women’s March LA 2020, the nation’s largest women’s march, which welcomed more than 300,000 women and allies to the streets of Los Angeles on January 18, 2020.
Presented by Women’s March Foundation, Women’s March LA 2020 kicked-off with a march from Pershing Square to Los Angeles City Hall where a powerful program featured performances and speeches by Maxine Waters, Marlee Matlin, Seal, Lea Thompson, Jordan Sparks, Caitlin Jenner, Mira Sorvino, Raven Symone, Melora Hardin, local policymakers and more.
In the weeks leading up to the event, JT secured feature coverage in print, tv and radio news outlets to raise awareness of the march and lift up the yearlong work of Women’s March Foundation. Advanced high-profile coverage included a Q&A feature in Ms. Magazine, a longform sit-down interview on the Los Angeles ABC affiliate KABC Eyewitness Newsmakers, and a feature interview on 89.3 KPCC’s news program Take Two, to just name a few.
The JT team provided on-the-ground support at the march, which included managing media credentials, overseeing three designated media spaces including a press riser, and arranging and facilitating onsite interviews with Women’s March Foundation representatives to maximize news coverage. News coverage from the event blanketed the Los Angeles-area and was featured nationally, including feature stories on Los Angeles Times, Variety, Yahoo and much more.
JT is honored to partner with Women’s March Foundation, who works year-round to take the women’s movement beyond marching and toward large scale social change.
