Katelyn joined JT in July 2010 with a strong background in media relations and crisis communications.

Katelyn has provided strategic counsel and communications support for a number of clients – including for The Chicago Community Trust’s On the Table civic engagement initiative, and she worked with the Knight Foundation to replicate the initiative in communities across the country. She leads media relations projects for Chicago Foundation for Women, as well as patient advocacy campaigns in three Midwest states; and has authored communications strategies and developed message platforms for clients including Heartland Alliance International, Teachers Retirement System of the State of Illinois, Public Employees' Retirement System of Nevada, the Northbrook Park District and more.

Prior to joining JT, Katelyn worked for two years as a media representative at the Chicago Transit Authority, where she served as an agency spokesperson, responding to routine media requests and coordinating messaging in crisis situations. From 2006 to 2008, Katelyn served as media relations coordinator for the Chicago Cubs. She also worked as an account coordinator at Allied Advertising/Public Relations, planning publicity and promotions in the Chicago market for major movie studios.

Katelyn graduated from Iowa State University in 2002.

Most memorable JT moment

The Nobel Summit was very surreal … from hunting down a dentist for one of the Laureates to shaking the hand of two former U.S. presidents in one day – it’s something I’ll never forget.
