THE CHALLENGE

JT worked in partnership with The Chicago Community Trust over eight months to plan and implement all aspects of The Trust’s 99th Anniversary initiative On the Table – the largest public initiative ever undertaken by The Chicago Community Trust.

THE APPROACH

JT worked in collaboration with the Trust on every facet of On the Table, including outreach to engage participants from every Chicago neighborhood and residential zip code in a discussion about the future of our metropolitan Chicago communities.

In addition to outreach, JT also managed the host and guest registration process, coordinated all participant communications, and helped produce content for a wealth of informational and promotional materials used to inform and educate about On the Table.

THE RESULTS

  • Nearly 1,100 mealtime conversations were held at private residences, backyards, local restaurants and other community locations.
  • More than 11,500 Chicagoland residents engaged in thought-provoking conversations to shape a public agenda to build and maintain communities that are strong, safe and dynamic.
  • Our social media efforts led to more than 4,500 digital conversations using the hashtag #onthetable2014, and propelled us into the number one trending spot on Twitter in Chicago at and through the dinner hour May 12 and 13.
  • We also secured coverage from nearly every major Chicago-area media outlet, including many that hosted their own On the Table discussions.
